The NBA starts playing games that count tomorrow night. The NBL is in full gear with only 2 teams on the ladder below .500 and the Euroleague has rolled into week two of what could be it's most important season on the books. If you're a basketball fan and you're not excited right now, I can't help you, kid.

Yank on those tear-aways, this is the final NBA preseason edition of the Skip Pass for 2008.

But, wait just one second. As a Philadelphia native, I know nothing but heartbreak and misery. But the Phillies are 27 outs away from the first major sports championship since 1983. I was five during the '83 Moses Malone "Fo, Fo, Fo" season when my Sixers beat the Showtime Lakers. I want this win tonight. I need this win tonight. If we don't get a win tonight, there may be some jumpers off the Walt Whitman Bridge.

Not me, I'm just saying.
