A miserable shooting performance from the Rockets, and the trash can lid someone put on both rims for the fourth quarter let Paul Pierce and the Celtics to a come from behind one point win over the Rockets in Manchester. The teams combined for 2-19 from behind the arc, but Houston really struggled shooting only 37.5% from the field for the night.

Milwaukee Bucks 99 (Villanueva 26, Redd 17, Bogut 13)

Rashee Wallace was only able to put 7 rebounds and an assist in the box score going 0-4 in 15 minutes of play. But Aaron Affalo was able to pick him up, the point guard put up real strong numbers getting his 28 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 25 minutes. He also managed to get T-d up in the process. Andrew Bogut was 3-6 from the field and 7-9 from the free throw line in a 13 point night.

The first outdoor game since the knee-high sock era turned into a bricklayers convention. Only Steve Nash was able to break into the teens but nobody had the key to the shot locker. The Suns & Nuggets combined for 54-159 and grabbed 103 rebounds. The weather, including ambient temperature in the 60's, may have contributed to the JV-like shooting performance. If you're scouting, throw this one out.

Oklahoma City Thunder 102 (Wilkens 23, Durant 16, Westbrook & Wilcox 15)
Golden State Warriors 122 (Belinelli 22, Nelson 18, Harrington 16)

The Thunder still haven't put a win on the board this presesaon, and the depleted bench didn't help OKC in Oakland. For the Warriors, Monta Ellis was ineligible as the team announced he has been suspended for 30 days for violating his contract. Dan Dickau and Corey Maggette also DNP'ed, listed "Coaches' Decision". Kevin Durrant struggled shooting 4-16, but slayed the Warriors on the defensive end grabbing 12 defensive rebounds (14 total) with 2 blocks. The City's backcourt of Marco Belinelli and DeMarcus Nelson teamed up for 40 points going 16-23 from the field.

The Tigers returned to form after a mid-week stunner loss to Perth. The sacrificial lambs were the 36ers. David Barlow's 16 point third quarter led him to a 29 point night, helped by Ebi Ere's 18 (with 8 assists). For the 36ers Mark Schenscher broke down former league MVP Chris Anstey for a team high 25, allowing Anstey only 11 points with 3 of those off the charity stripe.

Sydney Spirit 101 (Low 25, Gruber 16, Knight 16)
Perth Wildcats 86 (Weigh 20, Knight 20, Redhage 10)
Attendance: 1,624

The Spirit tallied their second straight come from behind victory by outscoring the Wildcats 33-15 in the final quarter. Derrick Low continues to campaign for team MVP pacing the field with 25 points. The victory for Sydney draw them level on the ladder at 3-3. The victories are vindication for head coach Rob Beveridge who's faced some struggles himself this season.

Everton Tigers 78 (Smith 26, Midgley 20, Bailey 11)

Everton Tigers moved themselves level with Newcastle Eagles at the top of the BBL Championship table thanks to a 73-78 overtime success over the Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders at the John Sanford Centre on Saturday evening. The Riders led 64-58 with 3:11 remaining in the game, but an Andre Smith three-pointer for the Tigers got the score back to 64-61. Free-throws from Tommy Swanson (2 from 4) and Matt Martin (1 from 2) took the score out to 67-64 with 51 seconds left. A three-pointer from Marcus Bailey with 32 seconds left tied the game at 67-67, but Leicester had the opportunity to win the game in regulation, however Tony Windless' shot rimmed out in the dying seconds, and the game went to overtime. In the extra period, Windless made two free-throws early on to give the Riders a 69-67 lead. This was the last time the home side would lead as the visitors rattled off the next seven points to lead 69-74. Swanson again bought the Riders to within a point at 73-74, but Bailey's three-pointer in the dying seconds of overtime secured the victory for the Tigers. Earlier in the game, the Riders had enjoyed a 15-4 tear in the second quarter to go into the locker rooms 37-31 to the good. They also enjoyed their biggest lead of the game at 54-43 midway through the third period, before all the fireworks of the final minutes and overtime began. Swanson led the Riders scoring with 25 points personal, while Smith led all scorers in the game netting 26 points for the Tigers.


London Capital 92 (Adelaja 15, McCallums 14, Gariba 12)

PAWS London Capital picked up their first victory of the season thanks to a 92-87 victory over the Guildford Heat at the Capital City Academy on Saturday evening. In a close game throughout, the scores were level at 66-66 going into the final stanza. In the final period, both sides continued to trade baskets, and with 1:20 remaining, London led 85-84. Free-throws from Chad McKnight (1 from 2) and Brad Jones (2 from 2) gave the visitors a slender two-point advantage at 85-87. London responded immediately, and Kaleston Wood netted the next seven points for the Capital as they ran out eventual winners. Earlier in the game, both sides had traded baskets throughout the first half and it was the home side that held a single-point lead at 45-44 going into the locker rooms at half time. In the second half, both teams kept up the defensive pressure on one another, but the visitors clawed their way back into the game and tied it all up at 66-66 going into the final stanza before the Capital's defensive pressure won through in the end. Wood led all scorers with 26 points for the Capital, while Chad McKnight led the Heat scoring with 20. Capital Head Coach Milek Jivens commented at the end of the game; "Today's game was very tactical and both teams didn't want to give it up" "It feels great to get that first win under our belts, and I am happy that the team are believing in the strategy that we are trying to play with." "Am especially happy to get the win after losing by 20 points yesterday, and makes it even more special to beat an established team like Guildford."
