NBA
:: NBA: LAKERS GUARD SUN YUE TESTS POSTIVE FOR MONONUCLEOSIS - And here I thought he was just lazy all summer. Q-Tip, or B-Rad, or whatever LA guard Sun Yue's calling himself will miss the start of training camp with a wicked case of mono.

:: ESPN: Owner: Speculation that LeBron will leave Cleveland 'insult to the city' - I'm not speculating that LBJ will bail on the 216 because if I'm young, rich, and down with J Hova, I'm going to want to be in the NYC and not the middle of Ohio. But LeBron's got two years left on his contract which puts him on the market just as the Nets move into Brooklyn. Plot thickens.

:: Sacramento Bee: NBA departures from West expected to have little impact - Scott Howard-Cooper looks at the logistical affects on Western Conference teams caused by the Sonics' move to OKC. The Sacramento bias is very slight and looks at the conference, and league, as a whole. Good read. Brings up the question of realignment, without bringing up the question of realignment.

:: Hoops Avenue: Wild Wild West - Gimmicky Will Smith/Kevin Kline reference aside, HA gives you the top 4 picks for the West.

NBL
:: Fox Sports (AUS): Rampton shows the right Spirit - Sydney's 32 year old Kiwi center Tony Rampton has made the decision to postpone career ending spine surgery to live the dream for one more season. Good on 'ya, Tony. The never soft spoken Rob Beveridge:
Tony will need surgery to remove that bone spur but if he has the operation his career is over, he's done, finished for good. That's why he's put off the surgery so he can have a crack at one more season.

:: Sportal: Bear Puts Win in Perspective - Tony Ronaldson, who went beast-mode against the Tigers over the weekend is downplaying his performance and putting team first. The Bear:
If you look at our personnel we're a pretty good shooting team, you've got Oscar (Forman), CJ (Bruton) and Kirk (Penney) as your one, two and three man and they're probably three of the best three point shooters in the league. Then you've got Phil Jones coming off the bench as well: it's one of our strengths. But the beauty is we can change it up as well, we don't have to rely on that threat. We have a good inside presence as well, which we didn't need as much tonight, but that's definitely another threat that we think that we're pretty good at too.

Europe
:: The Hoop: The Shawn Kemp Deal is Off - Kemp has been earning mad frequent flyer miles according to sources closer to the Italian side Montegranaro. The team is unhappy with Reignman's fitness, and Kemp is...I don't know. Unhappy with Italian women? But he's been returning the states often under the guise of maintaining his home, which was in the path of Huricane Ike. Would an Ike & Tina Turner joke be inappropriate?

US Minors
:: OSC: PBL Draft to be held at ESPN Zone in Chicago - Go and root on those Millrats...or get some wings and beer. Either way, good eats.
